Group-Level Results
Group-level results can help educators adjust their instruction by analyzing areas in which students excel and areas where students need additional support. The definition of a group is locally defined. Some examples are presented next:
- A teacher’s class
- A group of students who received similar instruction or who participate in a specific program (for example, intervention or enrichment)
The California Educator Reporting System (CERS) allows teachers and other educators to view summative and interim test results for students to which they are assigned. This is typically students in the teacher’s classes. School and local educational agency (LEA) users may view results for all students in the school or LEA to which they have been granted permission to access. Refer to figure 1 for a sample group report with composite claim data on an English language arts/literacy summative assessment.

CERS allows users with assigned groups to create new customized groups of their students. For example, a custom group can be created on the basis of demographic categories or program status (such as English learner students). Selecting the custom group will display test results for those students only.
